Women Pioneers Women living as pioneers in the late 1800’s endured many difficulties. However, after accomplishing long sought after goals and overcoming tremendous obstacles, they achieved great lengths and received many honors. Women had to fight for their education, fair wages in highly respected and mostly male professions, and finally, the right to vote. Females had to work continuously in order to gain respect and achieve a level of equality between themselves and the men surrounding them. When women chose to venture into the working force, they could only attain menial jobs. Nevertheless, some women chose to go one step further. Men working in high-class occupations such as doctors and lawyers did not favour the idea of women working alongside them. Numerous applications for colleges and universities were turned down due to the fact that the applicants were females. Many women were angered by this sexual discrimination and decided to do something about it. Brave women organized lobbyist groups and founded women-only colleges in order to prove that, they too, were worthy of an education. Female perseverance in attending medical school resulted in growing numbers on the medical scene. A few female patients realized that they preferred a female doctor since they perceived that women understood their problems much better than male doctors did. Despite this, it was still frowned upon by men to work alongside a woman. Female lawyers were not seen in the courtrooms until one woman stepped out and dared to challenge the law. Clara Brett Martin became the first female lawyer. Through her years of schooling and hard work, she proved herself to be a worthy candidate. Surprisingly, however, she, among many others was paid less than half of what men received, even though both sexes were doing exactly the same work. This same type of sexism occurred with female teachers as well. Even though, by 1870, at least half of all teachers were women and still, they were paid much lower wages. Female discrimination occurred for over forty years until 1918. The first Women’s University enforced the Minimum Wage Act in order to protect women from low wages, bad working conditions and long hours. In addition to the other occupations women had opened doors to, there was still one final position they had to attain. During the 1890’s-1910’s, women were uninvolved in the world of journalism. Unlike men, they were forced to overcome a sexual barrier that prevented them from writing for the newspaper.

Introduction In the fierce competition like happens in the automobile industry, automobile manufacturers are to take strategic decisions in order to ensure that their automobile products match exactly their customers’ needs. This is true as we can learn from several well-known automobile manufacturers, especially high-end ones; that their excellent financial achievement is the result of prolonged customer-oriented strategy that company has implemented for years and also the outcome of customers’ intimacy or retention. The situation suggests that in order to succeed in competition, automobile manufacturers need to develop customer-oriented marketing in order to win customers’ hearts, generate more revenue, and expectedly gain bigger profits. To generate revenue or sales, a company needs to communicate any plans, programs, or events to customers so that they are aware of the company’s program. However, it often happens a misunderstanding when customers complain to a company’s officer regarding a program due to lack of knowledge of the running program or offering. Therefore, communications of products, program, or offering do not only address external entities (customers, dealers, retailers) but also internal entities (employees like security officers, back office people and many others). Concerning the many faces of communication activities, this paper will present a internal public relations plan for products of Burt’s Bees Inc. Prior to providing details of the action plan for Burt’s Bees; I will discuss the elements of creating the communication and the company’s background to obtain the insight about the nature of the company’s business. 2. Communications Plan In order to reach optimum results in marketing a company’s products, the corporation should take into consideration a fundamental procedure of successful communication plan that is developing and implementing a communication plan. This is imperative since customers (external entities) and employees (internal entities) need to be informed about what a company offers to customers. Basically, a communication plan provides complete tools for a company to conduct actions that will support efforts necessary to implement the company communication strategy. In addition, the communication plan also helps the company to reach and understand the target audiences while finding the best approaches to engage them into endless business deals. This is imperative since communicating products to internal executives may be much different from that to employees or customers. For example, internal executives like chief executive officer (CEO) or chief financial officer (CFO) may be interested in seeing revenue and profit that are generated by a program. Meanwhile, customers may be interested in knowing the benefits of the program and pricing plan. The financial crisis of 2008 was one of the largest financial meltdown rivaling the Great Depression. In response to this crisis, Dodd Frank was created to regulate and fix the issue that occur. However Dodd Frank itself is a large legislation, consisting of 848 pages, bigger than all the past financial legislation combine. One of the major reason is that the financial crisis of 2008 has several factors that led up to it, whether it be speculative investment, and risky trades made by the company, or that most financial institution during that time period were extreme leverage by debt leading to a lack of liquidity when financial meltdown began. Simply before the crisis many banks were making speculative investment using the depositor money, many of which these trades is not for the customer benefits rather only for profit. Most commercial banks are back by the FDIC, which give the incentive for the traders and bank to think if the trade goes well then the profit is massive, however if the trade goes wrong it back up by the FDIC or the tax payer essentially. Basically banks has to incentive to make these speculative investment. It a form of moral hazard, it a behavior that does not benefit the customers at all, and it raises concerns to what kind of trades or investment would banks make in pursuit of profits.
